(This is funny if you know who I used to room with.)
(Well. I think it’s funny.)
(Oh, shut up.)
Ahem. Anyway. Let me present you to a typical day in my life. (There is a point, I swear. Yes, there’ll be a tl:dr; at the end. Skip ahead if you want.)
I go to work at five in the morning, and get home a bit after two. Then I have a quick dinner before I drive 40 mins out of the city to go skiing with my two dogs. We typically stay out for a couple of hours, depending on what we’re working on, but it is far and few between the days where we put anything less than 15 km behind us. Then I drive back to the city, pick up something to eat, and go to the local dog club/meet up with friends to train with the Border Collie, whom I compete in obedience and tracking with.
Afterward I tend to stay with a friend or two, going for a short walk with our dogs so they can run off-leash and stretch out properly after the day. Then I drive home, feed myself and the dogs, and head to bed.
Do you notice what’s lacking in this picture?
Yeah. Free time.
I’m betting you see the point now. I could, of course, be around more. I could spend more time on art, I could be involved in the community, I could be online and chatting with people again.
But I don’t really want to. I used to be outdoorsy and active, but life happened, and I self-medicated on the internet. Fast, easy and not at all healthy for me. For me. There are plenty of people whose life is enriched by their online communities, but alas, I am not one of them. It does not help me achieve my goals, and it does not make me happy.
So there you have it! Off I go. I’ve uninstalled irc and skype. I still have my gchat for those of you whom I’ve been chatting with there, but that’s about all I’m keeping.
(I don’t even watch the show anymore - haven’t since s02. The ATG-alumni-guys are the sole reason I’m still here. But..yeah.)
I’m not saying I wont be back - who knows where life takes me - but I know I’m happier when I’m not online, so I’m gonna go do that. Not be online. With my favorite guys:
tl:dr; I’m leaving, bye! Look at my doggies, they are amazing! Also our naure beats yours, hah.
